Meet Mrs. Eng
Hello Troy Union Families!
Welcome back! I am Mrs. Eng and I am the art teacher at Troy Union Elementary. I also teach a portion of the students at Hamilton Elementary. I am so excited to be starting my seventh year of teaching in the Troy School District. I am a graduate of the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan where I received a double major in Art Education and Illustration. I have had experience teaching art in the elementary and high school levels. I have had training in painting, drawing, ceramic, metals and graphic design. Along with teaching I work as a freelance illustrator. Prior to the start of my teaching career, I worked as a graphic illustrator in the arts and crafts industry where developed product lines for retailers, such as, Michaels and Jo-Ann Fabrics. When I am not art making, I enjoy playing the ukulele, bike riding, camping and baking cupcakes!
I feel art plays a crucial role in the growth of young minds. Art gives students the opportunity to explore, create, and express themselves visually. My hope this year is that each and every student grows as an artist and feels confident and proud of the artwork they have created. Students will feel welcomed, safe and a team player within my classroom. I ask that every student gives their best effort each week in art class.
If you have any concerns or questions feel free to contact me via email. You can also simply hit "Contact Mrs. Eng" in the upper right corner of this page.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Eng
